Traci Stevens joined Governmental Advocates in 2012 after serving in the Brown Administration as the Acting Secretary for the Business Transportation and Housing Agency.  Ms Stevens also served as the Deputy Secretary for Legislation at the Agency from 2009 to 2010 when she was appointed the Acting Secretary.

Ms. Stevens has over 20 years of public policy experience in California. Specifically she served 9 years in the State Senate working for two Senate Minority Leaders, Senator Jim Nielsen (R) and Senator Ken Maddy (R) and total of 11 years working for three Governors: Governors Pete Wilson (R), Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) and Jerry Brown (D).

Her background includes experience in housing, serving three years as Deputy Director of Legislation and Regulatory Review at the Department of Housing and Community Development; five years of consumer protection and general government oversight at both the Department of Consumer Affairs and the State and Consumer Services Agency as well as her three years at the Business Transportation & Housing Agency.

Ms. Stevens also has 9 year of private business experience as the Regional Vice President of Traffic Research & Analysis, Inc. and as a licensed realtor specializing in corporate relocation for Re/Max Gold. Her areas of expertise are consumer protection, government procurement, professional licensing, housing, financial regulations, transportation and public safety.

Ms. Stevens lives in Roseville, is married and has one daughter.
