Cliff Berg is a Lobbyist and President at Governmental Advocates, Inc., one of Sacramento's premiere lobbying firms. Mr. Berg joined Governmental Advocates in February 1995 after spending twenty-two years working for the California State Legislature, eleven as the Executive Officer of the State Senate.

Prior to his appointment as Senate Executive Officer, Mr. Berg served as Chief of Staff to the Senate President Pro Tempore and Senate Majority Leader.

Since joining Governmental Advocates, Mr. Berg has established a solid record of legislative accomplishments for a variety of nonprofit, corporate, government, and association clients. An attorney, Mr. Berg has extensive knowledge and expertise in issues relating to the State budget, health care, aging, technology and social justice.

He is the lead lobbyist for AOL, the California Association of Collectors, the California Optometric Association, Charter Communications, the County of Santa Barbara, Flynn Restaurant Group, Jewish Public Affairs Committee, Pitney Bowes, A Place for Mom, the Simon Wiesenthal Center, J.P. Morgan Chase, and Visa.

He has provided legislative strategy, consulting and lobbying services to a wide variety of clients for 20 years at Governmental Advocates.

Prior to joining Governmental Advocates as Executive Officer of the California State Senate, Mr. Berg built a bi-partisan reputation as an expert legislative strategist and as a policy specialist with an unparalleled knowledge of both the Legislature and State Government.

A graduate of McGeorge School of Law and a member of the California State Bar, Mr. Berg received his J.D. in 1979, and a B.A. from Occidental College in 1974. In addition to his legislative work, Mr. Berg is active in the Sacramento Community, currently serving on the Board of the Sacramento Jewish Federation. Married to his wife Debbie since 1979, he is the father of 3 children.
